Haroldine

Haroldine is a monkey (and not a pony or a llama or a rat). She is a tufted dangly monkey, long-legged variant to be exact, descended from the famous Mr. Dangly Monkey pictured and described here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=40974.0 This is her great-great-I-don't-know-how-many-grandpappy, typing his memoirs and tickling the ivories.

One day I wrote a song about her because I needed subject matter, and an overly-cute (and slightly Orwellian) ditty was pretty easy to write. She ended up coming to band practice with me, and then to shows, and then she became very popular. Haroldine is now our mascot. She's socially in demand, and has many fans and stalkers. Boys have been known to scream with joy and pass out if they discover she might be coming to visit. She also has an expansive wardrobe and a visible fanbase on the Book of Faces: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Haroldine/50246801758

Many people want to know why I don't mass-market them and sell more Haroldines at shows. The fact is, I can't. She's not my design, and I would probably knit my hands to complete destruction anyway. And besides, it's only right that you DIY and make your very own monkey! On the extreme outside chance we ever became internationally famous, I would fight tooth and nail to prevent lots of dangly monkey clones from being pumped out of China.

My guitarist Nikki also made one, named Harrison. He likes to go for rides on record players.

Go forth, and procreate!

photography

I just wanted to mention that our official band photos were taken by Zana Callahan. Her Flickr is http://www.flickr.com/photos/zanacallahan/ and you can see her work. She chill, she's skilled, and she did some excellent work with the fading daylight! BIG thanks to her for making us look awesome :-)

First Post!

Hi everyone! In an effort to better keep you, our adoring fans, in the loop, Allie here is assembling blogs and fixing up the ReverbNation!

What's new with us, you ask? We'll, we're inching closer to a completed album. Slow and steady, but we'll get there. We're super excited with what we've done so far, and we know you're gonna love it :-)

Haroldine has been very anxious for more opportunities to hang onto a mike stand in front of an audience. Obligingly, we've got a few shows in the works and we'll let you know as soon as they're a go. Expect a few surprises on the stage and the merch table as well!

Take care! Enjoy the nice weather while it lasts!
